Westminster Group sees double-digit revenue growth as both arms do well

The new container screening operation at the port of Tema in Ghana has already generated several hundred thousands of dollars in revenues.

Westminster Group PLC (LON:WSG) expects to report a significant increase in revenues in 2019.

Sales growth will be in double-digits leading to a much-improved underlying profit (EBITDA), said the security and technology specialist.

Both the Managed Services and Technology divisions performed well during the year, said the AIM-listed group.

Passengers travelling from its West Africa airport operations are at record levels while the new container screening operation at the port of Tema in Ghana has generated several hundred thousands of dollars in revenues.

Having delivered a screening system for an Asian port worth US$3.5mln in April, a second unit for a different port in the same country is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2020.

Westminster added that is also sold the last vessel of its ferry operation in Sierra Leone for US$643,000 against a book value of £170,000.

An exercise of warrants at 12.5p has also raised close to £47,000.

“We enter 2020 with increased confidence underpinned by an order book of around £2 million and several million GBP in contracted revenues already in hand from our port, airport, guarding and maintenance contracts.

“Coupled with healthy enquiry levels and numerous project opportunities at various stages of development we anticipate 2020 will be another year of significant growth.”

Sales in 2018 rose by 24% to £6.7mln.
