Morning Report: Further high grade gold reported at Rockfire's Plateau deposit

Rockfire Resources (LON:ROCK) has hit more high grade gold in the final two drill holes testing beneath the gold resource at the Plateau deposit in Queensland. The result means all drill holes in the October program hit potentially economic gold grades and mineable widths. 

Europa Metals (LON:EUZ) first metallurgical testwork for the Toral Project in Spain has confirmed good grades of lead, zinc and silver in concentrate. Recoveries averaged 70% zinc to 90% silver.

United Oil & Gas (LON:UOG) has hailed the latest drill results from the assets in Egypt it’s  agreed to buy from Rockhopper next year. Initial results from the ASH-2 well were excellent and United is confident production at the well will increase further.

Pearson’s chief executive John Fallon is to stand down next year once a successor has been appointed. The education group has also agreed to sell its remaining 25% stake in Penguin Random House to Bertelsmann for £530mln.

NMC Health says it will review the assertions made by short-seller Muddy Waters, which yesterday published a highly critical note on the Middle East-focused healthcare group. NMC added the claims appear principally unfounded, baseless and misleading, containing many errors of fact.

Peugeot owner PSA and US-Italian car giant Fiat Chrysler have agreed terms for a merger to create a business worth £40bn. Ownership will be 50/50 with annual sales of more than £140bn.
