Strong Conservative majority will see 'love return to UK equities'

Mike Gallagher, head of markets research at Continuum Economics gives his view on the UK election result which saw the Conservatives secure their biggest election win since 1987 and what it means for financial markets.

''UK equities have been unloved not just by domestic investors but also global investors because of political uncertainty surrounding the way the UK works and secondly some fear around the Labour programme''.

''Both of those have disappeared with the election result, you've now got a strong Conservative majority which will mean the UK's easier to govern''.
