Domino's Pizza Group PLC (LON:DOM) chairman Stephen Hemsley is to step down from the delivery group on 29 December.
Hemsley has been with the franchise outfit since 1988, a period that has seen its value rise to £1.5bn from £25mln and over which time he has been finance director, chief executive and latterly chairman.
Ian Bull, senior independent director, will chair the business on a temporary basis until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Hemsley said: “After 21 years in the business, now is the right time for me to step back and focus on other interests.”
He is also currently executive chairman of AIM-listed Franchise Brands.
Domino’s has been wracked recently by a dispute with a group of its major franchisees who have refused to open new stores until they are granted a greater share of its profits.
Hemsley and chief executive David Wild both agreed to stand down to help resolve the row.
