Animoca Brands owned Stryking to auction unique FC Bayern Munich licensed digital collectibles

The player cards on auction are non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are unique cryptographic tokens that have their authenticity and ownership secured by blockchain technology.

Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd (ASX:AB1) owned Stryking has started the auction of 18 unique official FC Bayern Munich licensed digital collectibles.

The auction is live now and will run until 6 pm on December 6, 2019 (GMT).

Representing a significant innovation in the blockchain space, the auction offers the protection of Stryking’s money-back guarantee, which allows auction buyers to return the player cards to Stryking for a refund during the redemption period.

Germany-based Stryking operates the award-winning fantasy sports platform Football-Stars.

Cryptographic tokens

The player cards on auction are non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are unique cryptographic tokens that have their authenticity and ownership secured and guaranteed by blockchain technology.

Unlike most digital media, NFTs have properties such as rarity and uniqueness - just like physical collectibles. This makes NFTs particularly well suited for digital collecting.

The FC Bayern Munich players featured in the player cards are Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Philippe Correia, Thiago Alcántara, Thomas Müller, Jérôme Boateng, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, David Alaba, Corentin Tolisso, Kingsley Coman, Lucas Hernández, Benjamin Pavard, Javier Martínez, Ivan Perisic, Alphonso Davies, Niklas Süle, and Leon Goretzka.

Owners of these player cards will enjoy complete digital ownership of the cards with the freedom to do anything they want, including selling them on a marketplace for real money or using them in any supported blockchain games.

“Tremendously Valuable”

Rare digital collectibles can be tremendously valuable.

1-1-1, the first official Formula 1 NFT for the upcoming blockchain game F1 Delta Time, was sold for 415.9 ether (about US$113,000 at the time of sale); the CryptoKitties unique NFT Dragon sold for 600 ether (the equivalent of about US$170,000 at the time of sale).
