Arafura Resources Ltd (ASX:ARU) has appointed Cathy Moises to the board as a non-executive director to assist the company in its transition from development through to production.
She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial markets and the resources industry.
This is highly relevant to the company's activities and more generally to the ongoing development and execution of the Nolans Neodymium-Praseodymium (NdPr) Project in the Northern Territory.
The company regularly considers the size and composition of the board to ensure it has the appropriate mix of directors with the necessary skills and industry expertise to oversee the transition.
Arafura’s prime focus is in advancing product offtake and project funding activities for the Nolans project.
Adding value to company
Non-executive chairman Mark Southey said: “On behalf of the board, I’m delighted that Cathy has accepted our offer to join Arafura.
"Her skills and experience complement those of the existing board members and she will add substantial value in assisting the board in setting and executing its strategy for the development of the Nolans NdPr Project.”
Previous experience
Moises holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Melbourne University with a Geology Major in addition to a Securities Institute of Australia Diploma of Finance and Investment.
She has extensive experience in the resources sector, having worked as a senior resources analyst for several major stockbroking firms including McIntosh (now Merrill Lynch), County Securities (now Citigroup) and Evans and Partners where she was a partner of that firm.
More recently, she was Head of Research at Patersons Securities Limited.
Moises brings invaluable experience to Arafura as she is extremely knowledgeable in the resources sector as well as company management, capital markets and institutional investor engagement.
Her key areas of industry experience include gold, base metals, mineral sands and the rare earths sector.
