Corazon Mining commences next phase of expansion drilling at Lynn Lake

Drilling is targeting shallower nickel-copper-cobalt resources at the historical mining area to add to the resource base.

Corazon Mining Ltd (ASX:CZN) has commenced its next phase of drilling at the 100%-owned Lynn Lake Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project in Canada.

The 1,200-metre diamond drilling program is testing for near-surface mineralisation, areas on-trend from historical mines, and areas adjacent to existing JORC resources.

Corazon’s recent mining studies at Lynn Lake have predominantly centred on nickel deposits at depths of more than 400 metres below surface.

This work highlighted the potential to define additional resources closer to surface and adjacent to Lynn Lake’s historically mined areas.

New target areas also identified

In addition, recent work has also identified several new drill targets which are geophysically analogous to previously mined areas at Lynn Lake.

These targets also represent further resource upside potential for Corazon at Lynn Lake.

Last week Corazon updated the JORC resource estimate for Lynn Lake to 16.3 million tonnes grading 0.72% nickel, 0.33% copper for 116,800 tonnes nickel, 54,300 tonnes copper and 5,300 tonnes cobalt.

The resource incorporates only six deposits at the Lynn Lake Project with multiple other deposits yet to be assessed.

Proactive last caught up with Corazon for an update in September 2019.
