Filtronic trading in line; no news yet on sale of its telecoms antenna operation

The second of four instalments on its US$2.0mln warranty claim settlement will be paid at the end of November

Antennae and filters market Filtronic PLC (LON:FTC) said it is still in talks to sell its telecoms antenna operation.

In a statement released ahead of today’s annual general meeting, the company said trading for the first half of the current fiscal year is expected to be in line with the board’s expectations, with “encouraging activity levels” in the group’s continuing business lines.

Order input levels across the portfolio of public safety, 5G backhaul and defence products all showed year-on-year improvements.

Filtronic said it has invested roughly £1mln in increasing its manufacturing and testing capacity, while it has also coughed up the first of four instalments relating to a US$2.0mln warranty settlement with a long-standing customer.

Shares in the company, which is currently without a chief executive officer, were down 1.3% at 8.39p.
