Drilling is now underway for the first of four potential wells at the Tapi Aike exploration project.
() has kicked off its drill programme for the Camp La Mata 1 well at the Tapi Aike project in Argentina.
It is the first of four planned wells in an exploration campaign at Tapi Aike.
The well is in the eastern portion of the project and it is targeting a play in the Magallanes formation, anticipated at a depth of 2,000 metres, along with a secondary target in the Anita formation at around 2,225 metres.

In total the well will be drilled down to a depth of 2,600 metres. It is planned that core samples will be taken in the Magallanes.
The programme may run for up to ten weeks – with drilling slated to take four weeks and subsequent logging, stimulation and testing adding up to six further weeks.
