() has begun diamond drilling at its Toral lead-zinc-silver project in north-west Spain.
The drill programme is aimed at a target area to the west of the project’s existing resource zone to prove up additional resources and boost confidence in the resource numbers, estimated to be 18mln tonnes at 7.4% zinc equivalent.
At the same time, a separate geotechnical programme will assess sub-surface conditions in the resource zone to advance further mine planning and design work.
Recently, executive director Laurence Read said geotechnical and hydrogeological work at Toral, combined with the metallurgical results, are all "fundamental next steps for de-risking the mine development pathway" for the project.
