Soon-to-list Kenyan port operator Agulhas Group Africa PLC has two big opportunities ahead according to chief executive Simon Phillips.
One is the incremental benefits it will get from recently being awarded import and export designation from the Kenyan government, a status that puts it on an equal footing with the main part at Mombasa.
The other is for it to become one of the main logistics groups supplying the massive Afungi LNG development in Mozambique.
If Agulhas can handle just 1% of the equipment being shipped to that project the numbers are 'off the scale' says Phillips.
The group is being formed through the reverse takeover of Anglo African Agricuture PLC (LON:AAAP) by Comarco, which owns the private port in Mombasa.
