Unilever PLC (LON:ULVR) chairman Marijn Dekkers has stepped down with immediate effect and will be replaced by Nils Andersen, formerly a non-executive director.
The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods group said that Dekkers, who has been on the post since 2016, is looking to focus on his own company, investment and advisory firm Novalis LifeSciences, and will continue to serve as a non-executive director.

Andersen, who was previously chief executive at logistics and transport firm Maersk and at brewer Carlsberg, has been on the board since 2015, while also serving as a non-executive at BP PLC (LON:PLC), chairman at paint producer AkzoNobel and at retailer Salling Group.
Andersen will drop his roles at BP and Salling, Unilever said in the statement.
“My decision to step down has been a difficult one to make but I look forward to seeing Unilever go from strength to strength under Nils as chairman,” said Dekkers in a release.
