GetBusy gets boost from reseller deal with tax return specialist

GetBusy's chief executive that TaxCalc's decision to resell and integrate SmartVault is “an important landmark in the geographic expansion of SmartVault"

GetBusy Plc’s (LON:GETB) shares zipped higher after the business software firm signed up accountancy specialist TaxCalc as a reseller.

Under the agreement announced on Monday, TaxCalc will become a non-exclusive reseller of GetBusy’s SmartVault product to its current and prospective UK and overseas customers, which includes accountancy firms and individuals.

GetBusy and TaxCalc will also jointly develop an integration between the two products, combining SmartVault’s cloud-based document management system with TaxCalc's tax and accountancy services.

TaxCalc’s chief executive Tracy Ebdon-Poole said the partnership came about when the company, in the midst of creating a full document management system, received recommendations for SmartVault from “a number of existing customers”. The company then realised the software could complement its expanding product range.

Daniel Rabie, chief executive of GetBusy, called the agreement “an important landmark in the geographic expansion of SmartVault, a core component of our strategy, and provides a substantial channel to market”.

Shares in GetBusy rose 11% to 51.5p in Monday morning trading.
