Sativa Group PLC (LON:SATI) has inked a deal with a company that helps some of the world’s major consumer brands increase their market share here in the UK.
SHS Sales & Marketing, which counts among its customers Mars and Colgate, will market Sativa’s Goodbody Botanicals CBD range.
It will do so on an exclusive basis, advising on product mix along with providing promotional and communications support. Logistics and invoicing are also included within the contract.
In a statement, Sativa chief executive, Henry Lees-Buckley said he was “thrilled” to be partnering with SHS.
John Heynen, SHS managing director added: "The growing demand for CBD wellness products in the UK provides us with an opportunity to further extend our offer to our customers and shoppers, and it is critical we work with the best partner to realise this.”
His company supplies Sainsbury, ASDA, Tesco, and Waitrose, as well as to pharmacies and health and wellness stores such as Holland & Barrett, the first UK national chain to stock CBD.
Known more formally as cannabidiol, CBD is a non-psychoactive ingredient of cannabis and hemp that is thought to have physical and mental health benefits.
Its take-up in the UK put it on a trajectory to become the nation’s most popular supplement.
