Core Lithium strengthens capabilities through appointment of Malcolm McComas as director

Core aims to begin spodumene concentrate production at the Finniss project in late 2020, subject to financing and regulatory approvals.

Core Lithium Ltd (ASX:CXO) has continued to strengthen capabilities and skills at management and board level through the appointment of Malcolm McComas as a non-executive director.

This appointment comes as the company moves toward the development and operations of the first Australian lithium project outside of WA - the Finniss project near Darwin in the Northern Territory.

McComas is an experienced company director, having worked in many growth companies in the resources sector over his career, and was previously an investment banker with leadership roles at several global organisations.

Previous experience

He was head of investment banking at County NatWest (now Citi Group) for 10 years and a director of Grant Samuel for a similar period.

Most recently, he was a director of BC Iron, the WA-based iron ore producer, as well as Consolidated Minerals, a global manganese company.

McComas is currently chairman of Pharmaxis Ltd (ASX:PXS) and Fitzroy River Corp Ltd (FRA:KIO) as well as a director of Actinogen Medical Ltd (ASX:ACW) and Royalco Resources Limited (ASX:RCO).

He has degrees in law and economics from Monash University and is a fellow of the AICD.

His appointment will be put to shareholders for ratification as an ordinary resolution at the Annual General Meeting of the company on November 28, 2019.
