Due to a strong Group trading performance in the third quarter, the Group's profit for the year to 31 December 2019 is expected to be materially ahead of current published consensus market expectations of an adjusted profit before tax of £16.5m. Results for the year to date have benefitted from a 20% increase in landfill volumes across all waste types, improved landfill pricing by a further 20%, increased radioactive waste profit and a good performance by both the treatment and North Sea businesses.

Both brands have traded well throughout the period, with Loungers' relaxed home-from-home customer proposition - offering great food and drink, all day, to an increasingly broad demographic - continuing to resonate with customers. Total revenue for the period was £79.8 million, representing total revenue growth of 22.0% over the prior year, and the Group delivered like for like sales growth of 5.4%.
Over the course of the period, the Group opened 10 new sites.
