Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) has received more sampling results collected from artisanal pits within its 100%-owned Kaninko Project in Guinea.
The 132 samples collected have significantly expanded the project’s potential with three potential drill targets identified – Bankan Creek, Bankan North-East, and Bankan East.
49 samples from Bankan Creek had peak grades of 3.3 g/t gold and an average of 0.8 g/t gold.
The peak sample grade from Bankan North-East was 1.6 g/t gold and 1.3 g/t gold from Bankan East.
This pre-drilling exploration, which will continue during the December quarter, will be used to prioritise targets for the first drilling campaign in the upcoming March quarter.
Predictive’s managing director Paul Roberts said: “Alongside Kankan and Nonta, Kaninko is firming up as a promising property in Predictive’s 100%-owned Guinea portfolio.
“These new results suggest that we have identified a new gold mineralised system with both disseminated and quartz-vein hosted gold identified over significant mineralised widths.
“We are not aware of any systematic previous exploration work in this area, so we are very hopeful of expanding the known gold mineralisation by exploration of the large unexplored areas surrounding the new prospects.
“We expect to invest significant time and effort in this area and the new, neighbouring Reconnaissance Authorisation in the next three months as we prepare for our first drilling campaign in Guinea in the March 2020 quarter.”
Recent channel sampling at Bankan Creek
These sampling results follow channel sampling results received in mid-September 2019 from the Bankan Creek Prospect within Kaninko.
Predictive received results from 12 vertical channel samples collected from artisanal pits grading up to 4.6 g/t gold.
Seven of the samples collected from workings in strongly weathered bedrock returned an average value of 1.5 g/t gold.
