Premier African Minerals Limited (LON:PREM) has refused to confirm reports in Zimbabwe that is has been awarded an exclusive prospecting order application (EPO) for its Zulu lithium project.
Several media sources in the country cited a TV interview by Mines and Mining Development deputy minister engineer Polite Kambamura where he said Premier had been granted the EPO.
Premier needs the EPO to start drilling at Zulu and prove up the resource.
In a statement, the company said it continued to work closely with the Zimbabwean Mining Affairs Board to progress its EPO and was encouraged by a meeting yesterday between the mining Board and Premier chief executive George Roach.
Premier said it will notify the market when it receives written communication of the status of Zulu's EPO application.
