Infinity Lithium Corporation Ltd (ASX:INF) flagship project conintues to gain recognition after recently being promoted in a speech at the European Battery Alliance (EBA).
Maroš Šefčovič, Vice President of the European Commission, in his key note address at the EBA stakeholders meeting on 25 September 2019 recognised the project’s strategic importance.
He said: “Infinity Lithium is planning on producing 15,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide in Spain and is in negotiations with 4 European industrial players.
“Automakers should be very interested in this project.”
These comments support other statements supporting the urgent requirement to support the EU’s automotive industry’s transition into electric mobility and calls for the European Investment Bank (EIB) to become fully engaged in funding raw material projects in exploration, mining and refining.
Bloomberg expert also mentions Infinity
The Battery Materials Europe 2019 Conference organised by Fastmarkets was held in Amsterdam on 26 September 2019.
James Firth, lithium and battery expert at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, stated: “Europe will be the second largest cathode producer in the world by the early 2020’s” and addressing the European raw materials sourcing issue “Infinity Lithium is developing a lithium project in Spain”.
PFS delivered in August 2019
Infinity delivered a pre-feasibility study (PFS) in August 2019 valuing its flagship San Jose Lithium Project in Spain at over A$1 billion (US$860 million).
