Part of the US government's Department of Homeland Security, a US$0.7mln (£0.6mln) payment will be received to extend a contract for the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office, adding further technical innovation capability to the existing family of products being used.
On top of that is a follow-on contract worth £1.0m with a company that works with a European government to detect and protect against potential nuclear threats. Kromek’s D3S solutions will be used for wide-area threat monitoring. This brings the total awarded by this customer during this financial year to £2.1mln.
“The D3S family of products is gaining increasing momentum globally, with sales in 18 countries, as governments continue to adopt innovative solutions for countering the threat of nuclear terrorism,” said chief executive Arnab Basu.
He said some multi-year trials were approaching a successful conclusion and the company was looking forward to additional product and system-level sales in the future.
