Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) has received drill assays showing high-grade gold at the Kingsley prospect within its Livingstone Gold Project in Western Australia.
The 2,375-metre reverse circulation (RC) program produced results including 10 metres at 11.95 g/t gold from 20 metres and 15 metres at 4.66 g/t gold from surface.
Results include both shallow oxide and deeper primary mineralisation and notably, the mineralisation at Kingsley remains open both along strike and at depth.
More drilling is scheduled in the December quarter to establish a maiden JORC resource at the target.
Kingston Resources’ managing director Andrew Corbett said: “These exciting results show that we have a potentially large, high-grade gold system on our hands at Kingsley.
“The recent drilling has confirmed and extended the known shallow mineralisation outlined by aircore drilling last year, returning a combination of both broad zones of high-grade oxide mineralisation close to surface and, importantly, also high-grade intercepts at depth.
WA Government co-funded diamond drilling
“The upcoming Exploration Incentive Scheme supported diamond program will increase our geological knowledge at Kingsley, giving us invaluable structural information on the orientation and controls on the mineralisation that will help us to more accurately target the next phase of RC drilling.
“The system remains wide-open to the north-west and east, with a further 1.2-kilometre strike length of known mineralisation still to be tested and further drilling required at depth as we work towards a maiden JORC compliant Mineral Resource.
Other targets at Livingstone with little exploration to date
“Alongside Kingsley, the Livingstone Gold Project also contains a number of other exciting gold targets where we have done very limited work to date.
“These include Homestead, which hosts a historic shallow 50,000-ounce gold (JORC 2004) resource.
“While, 600 metres north-west of Kingsley is the Livingstone North prospect, which contains a number of historical drill holes and historic workings that warrant further investigation.
Follows discovery at PNG project
“The exploration program at Livingstone will run concurrently with the multi-faceted exploration program that is ongoing at the flagship 2.8 million ounce Misima Gold Project in Papua New Guinea.”
These drill results follow the discovery of a new zone of gold mineralisation at its Abi Prospect within the Misima project in PNG.
The discovery was made through rock chip sampling, channel sampling and significant results from a diamond drill hole.
Hole GDD044 intersected 23.6 metres at 2.91 g/t gold from 7.4 metres including 13.5 metres at 4.60 g/t gold from 17.5 metres.
Rock chip assays featured up to 9.97 g/t gold and 165 g/t silver and channel assays feature 12 metres at 8.08 g/t gold and 3.87 g/t silver.
Drilling continues at Misima and more assays remain pending.
