Block Energy PLC (LON:BLOE) has announced the appointment of William McAvock as the company’s new chief financial officer.
McAvock has been Block’s finance manager since May. He will also take a seat on the board.
The Georgia focussed company highlighted that his twelve years’ experience in strategic and operational finance includes a role as interim financial controller and financial projects manager at Gulf Keystone Petroleum - the London-listed northern Iraq based oil producer.
His other prior roles for International Petroleum Ltd, African Minerals Ltd and Adastra Minerals have seen McAvock work in territories such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Niger, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“We are delighted William is joining the board to lead our finance team at this critical and exciting time for the company,” said Philip Dimmock, Block chairman.
“He brings considerable experience to support Block through the next phases of its development.”
