Mining

Fe Limited hits 61.3% and 58.1% iron in samples from North Pilbara earn-in tenement

Samples were taken during a reconnaissance trip to the property, which is directly along strike from the previously mined Atlas Abydos project.

Fe Limited (ASX:FEL) has received high-grade results of 61.3% and 58.1% iron in rock chip samples taken from the Strelley Tenement in the North Pilbara region of WA.

Samples were taken from the outcropping banded iron formation (BIF) during a recent reconnaissance trip to the property, which is along strike from the previously mined Atlas Abydos project.

“Exciting for shareholders”

FEL’s non-executive chairman Tony Sage said, “This, together with the company’s recent announcement of high-grade copper results is very exciting for our shareholders.

“Also, this area is very close to existing infrastructure built by Atlas Iron.”

Earn-in with Macarthur Minerals

Strelley is one of 18 tenements which form part of an earn-in agreement FEL recently entered into with Macarthur Minerals Limited (CVE:MMS).

These tenements, which range from south of Nullagine to north of Pilgangoora and are close to existing infrastructure, are prospective for lithium, gold, copper, base metals and iron ore.

There are many known deposits within and around the tenure and the eastern Pilbara in general.

Along with 61.3% iron, one sample returned just 3.97% silica, 0.72% aluminium oxide, 0.012% phosphorus, 0.034% sulphur and 7.39% LOI.

The 58.1% iron sample returned just 3.6% silica, 1.38% aluminium oxide, 0.152% phosphorus, 0.008% sulphur and 11.21% LOI.

Continuation of marker chert

In addition, an aerial review of the geological mapping and photography in the south-eastern corner of the tenement shows a continuation of the marker chert found adjacent to the mineralised outcropping gossan in VentureX Resources Ltd’s (ASX:VXR) Sulphur Springs deposit to the south.

This is a surface expression of the host VMS mineralogy.

FEL plans to undertake follow-up fieldwork starting in the week beginning September 9, 2019, seeking gossan or signs of similar mineralisation.
