Union Jack Oil PLC (LON:UJO) has updated on the West Newton A-2 well after project operator Rathlin Energy communicated details to the local community.

AIM-quoted UJO owns a 16.6% interest in West Newton where flow testing operations have now begun.

It is anticipated that the test programme is due to continue for around four to eight weeks.

“Additional information regarding the test programme will be made available once the relevant data has been collected and analysed," Rathlin said.

The West Newton A-1 gas discovery is on trend with the prolific Hewett gasfield complex and regionally is located in the Southern Permian Basin.
