Anson Resources targets JORC upgrade with well re-entry program

Anson established its maiden JORC resource by re-entering old oil wells, now it plans to re-enter two more wells for brine sampling.

Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) plans to re-enter the Skyline Unit 1 and Long Canyon Unit 2 wells to sample brine at its flagship Paradox Brine Project in Utah, US.

The company’s maiden resource is based on an underground layer known as Clastic Zone 31 – this re-entry program will sample Clastic Zones 17, 19 and 29.

An Exploration Target for these three zones has been estimated at 448-705 million tonnes of brine grading 50-400ppm boron, 3,000-4,000ppm bromine, 30-100ppm iodine and 50-150ppm lithium.

This exploration program will be running alongside process design and engineering test work at Paradox which is underway.

To date, Anson has sampled lithium grades from the Cane Creek 32-1, Skyline Unit 1 and Long Canyon Unit 2 wells.

Anson sampled Clastic Zones 17, 19, 29, 31 and 33 during drilling at Gold Bar and Cane Creek 32-1, and Clastic Zone 31 during drilling at Skyline Unit 1 and Long Canyon Unit 2.

Proactive last caught up with Anson back in mid-June 2019 to discuss the release of their maiden JORC resource at Paradox.

Since then the company has been busy with the aforementioned test work and despatching lithium carbonate samples to prospective offtakers.
