Concerns for small cap stocks following Woodford fiasco

MHP Communications managing director Reg Hoare tells Proactive London he's concerned the issues around liquidity which have arisen from the recent Woodford Equity Income debacle are going to have an impact on smaller companies that a lot of investors are dealing with and trading in and which are particularly popular with retail investors.

''The reason we're concerned about it is because we think other fund managers will be considering whether their funds are sufficiently liquid in a time when perhaps there's going to be a high level of redemptions which you might get in current market circumstances''.

Hoare also gives his views on the response by Burford Capital Limited (LON:BUR) to an attack by Muddy Waters.

Shares in the litigation funder plunged by more than a third after the notorious US short-seller accused it of “Enron-esque mark-to-model accounting” and “egregiously misrepresenting” its returns.
