Flutter Entertainment's US fantasy sports business FanDuel partners up with Major League Baseball

Flutter Entertainment, which was spun out of the merger of Betfair and Paddy Power, bought FanDuel last year as part of its US expansion plan

FanDuel, the US fantasy sports unit of FTSE 100 sportsbetting firm Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLT), has secured a multi-year agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB).

The partnership will make FanDuel an official gaming partner of the US professional league. FanDuel will be able to use official MLB data and logos in its online and retail sportsbooks.

The company said it was a “landmark deal” and marks its first partnership with MLB. The financial terms and duration of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Fantasy sports and sports betting have become a national pastime in their own right, so it's natural to join forces with Major League Baseball,” said Kip Levin, President & COO, FanDuel Group.

“MLB clearly understands how working together can be beneficial for baseball fans and both companies alike.”
