Sunrise Resources eyes quick start to production as CS passes horticultural grade test

"This should allow us to get into production quite quickly once permitting is completed later this year."

Sunrise Resources PLC (LON:SRS) has successfully completed proof of concept trials for a horticultural grade of perlite from its CS deposit in Nevada.

A finely crushed perlite was also produced that can be sold as natural pozzolan.

Horticultural grade is a higher price raw perlite product that typically sells for around US$100/t.

A larger trial is now planned for a 100-ton bulk sample already collected to produce larger amounts of horticultural grade perlite.

Patrick Cheetham, executive chairman, said proving the concept was an important step towards perlite and natural pozzolan production at CS.

“We have demonstrated that the perlite can be crushed and screened to the sizes required for expanding to horticultural grades of perlite using mobile processing equipment commonly used in the quarry industry.

"This should allow us to get into production quite quickly once permitting is completed later this year."
