Alkane Resources gains new substantial holder Genesis Minerals Limited with 5.82% holding

Alkane is a gold producer through its Tomingley operations and also owns a construction-ready rare earths project.

Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK) has gained a new substantial holder in Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX:GMD) which now holds a 5.82% interest in Alkane.

Genesis acquired nearly 66 million ordinary fully paid shares at a price of more than $1.4 million.

Last week Alkane committed to invest $6 million to build its equity interest in Genesis which owns the 760,000-ounce JORC-compliant Ulysses Gold Project resource grading 3.3g/t.

Alkane continues to be profitable gold producer through its Tomingley Gold Operations in NSW where recent exploration has discovered nearby gold to possibly increase mine life.

A 10-hole diamond drilling program at the Peak Hill Gold Mine (PHGM) within the greater Tomingley Project returned results featuring 110 metres at 1.97 g/t gold from 197 metres.

The PHGM is on care and maintenance and located 15 kilometres sound of the TGO, which was operated by Alkane from 1996 to 2005 as an open cut, heap leach operation.
