Crossword Cybersecurity wins contract to help local councils deal with GDPR

Stevenage borough council, Peterborough city council and East Hertfordshire district council will use Crossword’s Rizikon Assurance to manage data compliance

Crossword Cybersecurity Plc (LON:CCS) has won a contract with three local councils in the UK to use its software to manage compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Stevenage borough council, Peterborough city council and East Hertfordshire district council will use Crossword’s Rizikon Assurance to give themselves a ‘360-degree view’ all of their data risks with suppliers and for wider information governance.

GDPR requires organisations instead of users to ensure privacy is protected, including making sure they take adequate steps to ensure data is both encrypted and anonymised, so that in the event of a breach, the data cannot be exploited.

Crossword said that by using Rizikon, the three councils will improve the process and accuracy of securing third party assurance, supporting compliance with GDPR and helping manage on-going assurance checks.

Director Jake Holloway said Rizikon Assurance helps organisation dramatically improve the speed and reliability of its third-party assurance processes, as it “moves third party assurance from a siloed and reactive activity, to a connected, proactive continuous process that delivers a complete view of third-party risk”.
