AusTex Oil spuds Clark #1 well in Kansas

Brisbane-based oil and gas producer AusTex Oil (ASX: AOK) reported today it has spudded the Clark #1 Well, Sheridan County, Kansas.

Clark #1 well is a wildcat well. AOK holds a 50% working interest and a 43% net revenue interest in this project.

The well site is located two miles to the east of the successful Cooper #1 Well drilled last year. During November, seismic data on the lease was re-mapped using sonic logs from wells drilled on the acreage in the last 12 months.

Mapping has now been completed and a 640 acre four way closure has been identified at this location. The Clark #1 is targeting the Lansing-Kansas City and other known formations with a total depth (TD) of 4,400 feet.
