UK outsourcing group, Xchanging plc (LSE: XCH) revealed a new strategic alliance with ‘absence management’ specialists FirstCare. The partnership sees the pooling of services between the two support management service groups to offer both integrated and unbundled services.

FirstCare will offer its customers access to Xchanging's portfolio of HR solutions, while Xchanging will integrate FirstCare's absence management and occupational health pre-employment screening services to its service portfolio.

The privately owned FirstCare recently acquired Active Health Partners adding occupational health and pandemic planning expertise to its range of service. First care’s primary service provides pre-employment, background screening and contingency planning. The company targets a 10% reduction in absenteeism for its clients, which include the NHS, Coca-Cola and British Gas.

Xchanging HR Services, Managing Director Kath Lowey commented on the partnership:

"FirstCare's offering has great synergy with our end-to-end HR lifecycle proposition, so this alliance was a natural fit for us. In the current climate, organisations are looking for greater value from their HR solutions. Together FirstCare and Xchanging can offer not only a wide range of competitively priced services but a level of expertise in HR process and delivery that customers seek."
