Brisbane-based AusTex Oil (ASX: AOK) has advised Sealock #1 well, Cooper Project, Sheridan County, Kansas was plugged and abandoned after extensive testing.
Castle Resources Inc., the operator, advised that laterals were completed in multiple levels of the Lansing-Kansas City formation using the Radial Jet Enhancement technology.
Oil recovered from the well during testing was not commercial. Long delays were experienced during testing of the well due to weather and mechanical difficulties.
Sonic logs from this well have assisted in recalibration of the seismic data acquired on the lease.
Looking ahead, a technical committee meeting in Kansas with the operator and consulting geophysicist, has identified a location for the next exploratory well, the Clark #1 - scheduled to be drilled within the next 30 days.
AOK holds a 50% Working Interest and a 43% Net Revenue Interest in this 26,500 acre project.
