Florida-based Quepasa (OTCBB: QPSA) said today that it added more than 2.1 million registered users to its social networking website Quepasa.com in October, for a total of 22.8 million.
The company said 26% of the new users were located in Brazil.
In October, unique visits to Quepasa.com, which targets Latin Americans, increased to 16.3 million from 16.0 million in September.
According to recent data from The Nielsen Company, 86% of Brazilian internet users regularly use social media websites.
Indeed, according to the company, Quepasa.com is adding 66,000 new users daily.
For fiscal 2009, Quepasa recorded a loss of $10.6 million on revenue of $0.54 million.
At the end of June 30, 2010, the company had about $1 million in current assets, $0.52 million of which was in cash. Total long term debt stood at almost $6 million.
Besides Quepasa.com, Quepasa also owns Corazones.com, a dating website targeting Hispanics and Latin Americans.
The company's share price was unchanged at $6.0 on Thursday as of 2:16 pm ET.
