Security firm Digital Barriers nabs police contract in Asia

Surveillance specialist Digital Barriers (LON:DGB) said it has won a contract with one of the largest police forces in Asia.

The firm’s TVI surveillance technology - a real-time live video streaming tool - will be installed in police vehicles.

Although the deal will only result in £0.1mln worth of revenue this year, the “multi-year vehicle programme” is expected to lead to “material TVI sales” with the same customer in 2016.

Latest figures show the business made £10mln in revenues in the six months to September 2014.

Zak Doffman, chief executive, says his firm beat strong competition from some of Asia’s leading multinational electronics firms to win the latest deal.

Indonesia, India, China have the largest police forces in Asia.

The latest contract follows the firm’s €0.28mln deal, announced last week, which saw the first use of Digital Barriers’ Integrated Surveillance Platform in the transportation sector.

The company also recently signed a partnership deal with Stanley Security to deliver automated intrusion detection for the European remote alarm monitoring market.
