Shares in internet media specialist Blinkx (LON:BLNX) nudged higher as it announced plans to buy AdKarma, LLC - a video supply side platform.
AdKarma brings extensive supply and demand side relationships, along with access to key programmatic video technology, the firm said.
It posted gross revenue of $13.3mln in 2013, which was 102% higher than in 2012, while gross profit was up 118%.
Blinkx chief executive S. Brian Mukherjee told investors: "Blinkx's stated growth strategy is focused on three key areas - video, mobile and programmatic, which we feel represent the future of digital brand advertising.
"We believe AdKarma delivers in all three areas for the company.
"We are particularly encouraged by AdKarma's high-growth mobile business, which complements our own initiatives in this channel."
The initial consideration is for $15mln in cash plus an additional $5mln in cash or stock at the company's option, payable on the first anniversary of the transaction.
Blinkx shares added just over 1% to go to 25p each.
