European Diamonds PLC (AIM:EPD)said it had mined a further 13,800 tonnes of kimberlite from the Main Pipe and recovered approximately 5,685 carats.
CEO of European Diamonds, Roy Spencer, commented "the increase in grade from last year to this, reflects, amongst other items, improved efficiencies as a result of the plant upgrade we introduced late last year. Bulk sampling will continue through the year as the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) provides guidance for the bulk sampling programme from a geological perspective. A first draft of the PFS is currently under review by the independent geologists. These results are further evidence that the Main Pipe is developing into a very
important diamondiferous kimberlite."
