Montezuma Mining (ASX: MZM) has received some good early news from the Butcher Bird Copper Project.
Mullock sampling at the historic Butcher Bird Copper Mine on EL 52/2350 “Butcher Bird” has returned very strong copper results. As part of the current reconnaissance program, a selection of mullock samples were selected from Butcher Bird and submitted for multi-element assays.
Best samples returned:
- up to 21.7% Cu (oxidised zone) and
- 6.07% Cu (primary zone)
Interesingly, there is no recorded drilling around the Butcher Bird mine and the potential for primary copper mineralisation remains untested. The tenement also contains previously reported surface manganese mineralisation, grading up 44.4% Mn.
The Great northern highway cuts through the tenement area providing ease of access, only 120km south of Newman.
