West African Diamonds PLC (AIM: WAD) said it has appointed Paul Hendrik Nel as non-executive director with immediate effect.
His family mined diamonds in South Africa and he has discovered, developed and operated a number of diamond mines, both hard rock and alluvial.
In recent years, he has been active in Angola and West Africa. He has been advisor and consultant to West African Diamonds for two years. His focus will be development, it added.
