Peninsular Gold Ltd (AIM : PGL) said its newly built carbon-in-leach (CIL) plant at Raub in Malaysia’s Pahang state has been performing ahead of management expectations since its first gold pour in February, and had produced 4,140 troy ounces of gold to the end of May.
Plant performance is expected to improve further as it ramps up production towards anticipated levels via both an increase in tonnage throughput and further optimisation of the CIL process, the group said in a statement.
Chairman Dato' Sri Andrew Kam said: “We are pleased to be able to report that the plant is progressing steadily up to its planned levels of throughput and production. I look forward to updating the market on our production progress and other plans over the coming months.”
