Admiralty Resources (ASX: ADY) has appointed Mrs Qing Zhong as an alternate director to Dr Shaoqing Li.

Zhong is a director of Sino Investment and Holding, a substantial shareholder and cornerstone investor of Admiralty.

Professor Ross Harper, chairman of Admiralty, commented: “Mrs. Zhong’s appointment heralds even closer communication between Admiralty and Sino Investment.”

During 2012 Admiralty has advanced its Pre-Feasibility Study for the Mariposa Project and an Early Mine Production Study for the Soberana Project, both of which are iron ore targets in the Harper South District of Chile.

Harper South is the most advanced district in respect to exploration, with Mariposa, Soberana and La Chulula being the three most important projects.

Production at both of these deposits is likely next year with initial production target of 1.2 million tonnes per annum of iron ore fines out of Mariposa and 360,000 tonnes of iron ore lumps or fines out of Soberana.

The Pre-Feasibility Study for Mariposa will include an updated Resource and a maiden Reserve, while the Early Mine Study will include an initial Resource.
