On December 17 Hambledon appointed Aidar Assaubayev as its new chief executive.
The group, which owns the Sekisovskoye project, said Assaubayev will focus on a comprehensive review of Hambledon’s operations and strategic options “with a view to identifying the best way forward for Hambledon and its shareholders”.
The boardroom changes follow the move by African Resources to acquire 60% of Hambledon.
Separately, the group also announced that Matterhorn Investment Management interest in the company has dropped below 3%.
A previous stock exchange notice revealed it held 3.08% of the group.
