Tianjin TEDA Biomedical Engineering Company announced quarterly profits of RMB26m, an increase of 31 percent on the same period last year.
The company made RMB141m of sales, an increase of 17 percent on the previous year. The main increase came from sales of biological fertilisers.
At the same time, as a result of optimisation of production systems, the overall profit margin increased from 16.26 percent to 18.15 percent.
Biological fertilisers contributed to 83.6 percent of revenue, 14.4 percent more than the previous year.
Other income came from health products, which sales incraesed by 37.7 percent with a profit margin of 44.4 percent.
The outlook for 2009 look good as the government has identified the devlopment of fertilisers as a key strategy for rural China this year.
