Emerald and coloured gem specialist Gemfields (LON:GEM) has beefed up its management team with the promotion of Devidas Shetty to chief operating officer and a new finance head joining.
Shetty has been chief financial officer at Gemfields since 2010. In his new role, he will provide operational direction and support to the heads of each of the group's operating divisions. He will report to group chief executive Ian Harebottle and remain a board member.
Experienced mining accountant Mark Summers has joined Gemfields as Shetty’s replacement as chief financial officer.
Harebottle said: “As Gemfields continues to grow and develop, various changes are required within the group to ensure that we remain well positioned to manage our momentum.
"To this end, changes have been made to strengthen the management team and I am confident that these new appointments will support Gemfields' ability to deliver on its current growth plans.“
