Hipgnosis acquires rights to Eurythmics catalogue of music

Music catalogue specialist Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited (LON:SONG) has acquired the rights to the songs written by former Eurythmics and Tourists front man Dave Stewart. No price for was given for the catalogue, which comprises more than 1,000 songs, but Hipgnosis described the deal as incredible for the company.

Biodegradable plastics group Symphony Environmental International PLC (LON:SYM) is set for a lift after the European Commission dropped plans for restrictions on the type of product it makes.  The commission had been concerned oxo-biodegradable technology might result in microplastics being produced.

StatPro Group PLC (LON:SOG) has signed a three-year contract worth at least €1.2mln with an EU-based investment manager for cloud-based product Revolution Delta. The software includes a new module to cover the new EU Money Market Regulations.

British Airways owner IAG expects flat profits this year as lower revenues and higher costs took a toll on its first quarter. Operating profit dropped to €135mln from €340mln though IAG expects passenger in come to pick up over he reminder of the year.

Uber has priced its forthcoming float near the bottom of the expected price range. The shares will go sale at $45 – valuing the Taxi app firm at $82bn
