Symphony Environmental boss hails EU decision to halt oxo-plastics probe as validation of technology

Michael Laurier, Symphony Environmental’s (LON:SYM) chief executive, believes the decision by the European Commission to drop an investigation into oxo-biodegradable plastic underpins the credentials of its d2w technology.

The European Chemicals Agency has found no evidence that oxo-technology creates microplastics, which is why Laurier believes the EC told it to drop its 18-month study.

Europe still has a directive on plastics pending, but today’s decision burnishes d2w’s commercial credentials in other places around the world where its adoption has already been gathering momentum.

People will take the technology a lot more seriously now said Laurier, adding that d2w is fully recyclable and fully biodegradable.
