Canyon Resources confirms existing railway can transport Minim Martap bauxite ore

Canyon Resources Ltd (ASX:CAY) managing director Philip Gallagher updates Proactive Investors on the bauxite company’s development of its Minim Martap Bauxite Project in Cameroon.

An initial independent assessment of the existing rail network adjacent to the project concluded that it has the capacity to transport commercial tonnages of bauxite to Cameroon’s largest city, Douala.

A proposed rail extension is also being investigated from Douala to the Kribi Deep Water Port.

Minim Martap has one of the highest-grade bauxite deposits globally, confirmed by the recently-announced inferred resource of 250.9 million tonnes at 50.8% aluminium oxide and 1.9% silica.
