Andrew Bell, chairman of Regency Mines Plc (LON:RGM), caught up with Proactive's Andrew Scott as production kicked off at their metallurgical coal project in Virginia.
The operator of the project - Mining Equity Trust (MET) - is a joint venture between Regency Mines and Legacy Hill Resources.
''MET took over the operations last Thursday and started the lease of two highwall miners on that day and hit the ground running and started producing.''
''As of yesterday they'd produced something in the region of 8,500 tonnes and so by now it must be something like 11,000 tonnes.''
Bell also discusses plans for their Mambare nickel/cobalt project in Papua New Guinea as well as updates on their other investments across energy storage and oil and gas.
