TETIS CONTAINER TRACKING US$1.5M ORDER

NORTHLAND VIEW

Starcom announces that it has entered into a 3-year supply and support agreement with Shiptek Solutions Corporation, a Philippine software company, for the supply of its Tetis R container tracking system.

Shiptek will purchase a minimum of 2,900 Tetis R units over 3-years, worth US$1.2m, with an initial order for 100 units, worth US$42,500. Of the remaining 2,800 units ordered, 800 units are allocated in each of 2018 and 2019, with 1,200 units in 2020. Starcom will also provide its online tracking software system, indicative of additional revenue, based on minimum order volume, of US$250,000 over the three years.

Starcom’s Tetis R system tracks shipping containers and monitors temperature and humidity within the container remotely and in real time. The Shiptek order forms part of a new Starcom app-based digital platform - X-Log – which allows the end-user customer to select the right container and optimal shipping company for the type of product, point of collection and delivery, and related logistical details. Starcom reports that Shiptek has already signed up a major top-ten shipping company which has begun trials.

This is a positive development particularly given Shiptek’s status as an intermediary with links to the container shipping industry.
