Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) shares may have ended 21.4% higher at $22.62 on takeover rumours on Friday, but the micro-blogging site was given a cautionary note by RBC tech analyst Mark Mahaney.
Mahaney downgraded Twitter to "underperform" from "market perform," predicting a 25% drop in the stock because of weak advertising revenue.
Retailer Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT) was upgraded to "overweight" from "equal-weight" by brokers at Barclays on Friday. The British bank said investments in improving the company's labour situation appear to be resonating with customers.
Wal-Mart shares ended up 0.1% at $72.35.
Yum Brands (NYSE:YUM) shares ended up 0.2% at $90.64 as a milder downgrade met the restaurant operator from broker RBC. The bank cut its rating on Yum Brands to "outperform" from "top pick," as it re-evaluated potential upside for the stock from current levels, but still considered it a good long term value.
